Suspected ISI Agent Arrested In Amritsar; Was Tasked With Spying On Indian Army’s Troop Movement

A suspected ISI agent has been arrested in Amritsar by the special operations cell of the city police which has booked him under the officials secrets act, Times of India has reported.

The ISI agent reportedly identified as Ram Kumar has been accused of passing sensitive military information to the Pakistani handlers.

As per the report, the ISI had tasked him with reporting Indian Army’s movement and unit locations near the India-Pakistan border.

The accused was believed to have been sharing sensitive information over WhatsApp and received payments in return. This was revealed based on interrogation by the police.

During its action, the police recovered two mobile phones and four sim cards from the accused. He is also believed to have provided Indian mobile numbers to his ISI handlers to help them carry out their nefarious activities in India.

The accused would be produced before a local court on Friday (15 March).
