In November 2018, Spanish giants Atletico Madrid announced a collaboration with Tata Football Academy (TFA). As part of the deal, 10 promising young players will get an opportunity to travel and develop their sport in Spain, Goal reports.

Sunil Bhaskaran, Vice President (Corporate Services), Tata Steel, told Goal that the partnership was on the right path as the children will receive training from technical staff in their development phase.

"We have identified 10 children this year who will be sent to the main ATM academy in Spain where they will receive full-time training. Every year, we plan to add 10 more children with TATA Trust taking the initiative forward along with Atletico,” Bhaskaran said.

The children, who are in the age bracket of 10-plus, will train for around six to eight years in Spain and create potential talent which can play in European Leagues and at the same time represent and benefit the national team. “This is an investment in Indian talent and Indian football," Bhaskaran stated.

Tata Football Academy is one of India’s most oldest and elite football academies and has over 100 players to represent the Indian National Football Team including the likes of Udanta Singh, Narayan Das, Pronay Haldar, Robin Singh, Rino Anto and Subrata Paul among others.
