Tata Sky Reduces Discount On Set Top Box, Pack Combo For New Users; Pack Prices Unchanged

New Tata Sky customers would have to shell out more (as much as 44 per cent) if they wish to subscribe for long-duration packs as Tata Sky has reduced the quantum of box + pack discounts for new subscribers, Dream DTH has reported.

The pack prices though would remain the same.

Here is a comparative list of long-duration packs with the old and new price for six to 12 month duration.

3. Gujarati Hindi Basic - Hiked from Rs 4,129 and Rs 2,599 to Rs 4,999 and Rs 3,249
4. Gujarati Hindi Basic HD - Hiked from Rs 5,829 and Rs 3,499 to Rs 6,929, Rs 4,469
5. Gujarati Lite - Hiked from Rs 3,591 and Rs 2,399 to Rs 4,539 and Rs 3,069

It was recently reported that Tata Sky had decided to extend instant benefits for its new long-term pack subscribers by crediting a cashback equivalent to one month’s subscription charges within 48 hours. It was earlier credited at the end of 12 months. Rs 6939 & Rs 4469.

Update: In response to the news story Tata Sky has clarified that like other operators it has merely reduced the quantum of discount provided on box + pack combo price.
