Indian Railways is set to partner with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for its mega 1 lakh hiring drive set to commence on 9 August, Business Standard has reported.
“We have given the contract to conduct the examination to TCS, which will hold the test through its recruitment division, TCS iON,” a railway official said. Two other private companies have also been roped in to handle the back end operations.
Railways had earlier announced that it will be holding phase wise online exams for 62,907 Level-1 and 26,502 Level-2 vacancies, having received 1.9 crore and 47.5 lakh applications for the vacancies respectively.
Each candidate will be served a unique question paper with the same difficulty to be managed by the ‘Question Creation Wizard’ which will be managed by TCS.
TCS won the contract to conduct the examinations after a bidding round organised by the Railways. TCS has earlier worked with the railways on a similar recruitment drive in 2016 which saw over 90 lakh applicants taking the exam.
TCS also reportedly manages several other digital examinations including GATE and CAT among other medical and engineering exams through its iON platform.
