In Osmanabad, Marathwada, Shiv Sena had changed their candidate and fielded Om Raje Nimbalkar against NCP's Ranjitsingh Patil (son of NCP strong man Padmsinh Patil). This fight shows a slight edge to the Shiv Sena candidate.
In neighbouring Latur, BJP had scored a coup of sorts by recruiting former Congress loyalist Sambhaji Nilangekar just after 2014. Subsequently, BJP also saw success in local municipal polls there.
Here, Sudhakar Shrungare of BJP takes on Congress candidate Machchindra Kamat. Due to the presence of a few key regional leaders and a strong Independent candidate also being in the fray, retaining this seat might be tricky for the BJP.
