Vice President (VP) M Venkaiah Naidu today (21 September) suspended eight members of the Rajya Sabha from opposition camp for rest of the session, ruing over the unprecedented chaos witnessed in the house.
Lamenting over the developments, Naidu suspended MPs, including Trinamool Congress's Derek O'Brien, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)'s Sanjay Singh, Indian National Congress (INC)'s Rajeev Satav and CPM's K K Ragesh.

Suspending the eight MPs, Naidu, who is also the Chairman of Rajya Sabha said, "I am pained at what happened yesterday. It defies logic. It is a bad day for Rajya Sabha."
It should be noted that while Singh and Satav had climbed on to the Rajya Sabha's Secretary General's table in the well of the house, O'Brien had waved the rulebook in front of Deputy Speaker Harivansh Singh. Several opposition MPs went on to pull out the mic pieces from their seats, while some other tore up the documents.
Opposition members also tried to snatch away Deputy Speaker's mic, to stop the passage of farm and agri-marketing bills tabled in the house.
