10 people have been injured in Jammu and Kashmir’s (J&K) Anantnag after terrorists lobbed a grenade outside the office of the deputy commissioner, reports ANI. Among those injured is a traffic policeman and a journalist.
The intended target of the attack was a security patrol outside the office, but most of the injured are pedestrians who were in the vicinity, as per Hindustan Times. The site of the attack has now been cordoned off by authorities and the search is on to capture the perpetrators.
This attack comes just a week after three terrorists were eliminated by security forces in an encounter in Ramban. A jawan was also martyred in the same incident.
Although some disruption was caused to terrorist activity due to the heavy security arrangements in light of Article 370’s revocation, including restrictions on telecom networks, it seems that they are now moving back to their regular pace of operations.
