Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, for Mysuru-Kodagu Pratap Simha flagged off a Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) train between Bengaluru and Mysuru on Sunday (23 December), Deccan Herald reported.
The fare has been set at a modest Rs 30 and the services shall officially commence from 26 December. The MEMU will run four days a week, making it the only train to run after 7.00 PM.
It will ply between Bengaluru and Mysuru on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and its return journey will be on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Departing from Bengaluru’s Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna station at 7.55 PM, the train will arrive in Mysuru at 10.50 PM.
For its return journey, the train will leave Mysuru at 4.55 AM and reach Bengaluru by 8.30 AM. The ceremony to flag off the train was also attended by MLA L Nagendra, MLC Sandesh Nagaraj, Divisional Railway Manager Aparna Garga and Additional Divisional Railway Manager Ajay Sinha.
