The Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Police has successfully nabbed two terrorists belonging to The Resistance Force (TRF) in Jammu region, and also seized their arms and ammunition, reports Time of India.

The two have been identified as Raees Ahmad Dar of Churath, Qazigund and Subzar Ahmad Sheikh of Ashmuji, Kulgam. The duo was intercepted and arrested by the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Police when they were on their way to Srinagar.

The SOG had set up a special checkpoint in the area based on reliable intelligence input about the movement of terrorists with automatic weapons. While checking the vehicles at the checkpoint, they noticed suspicious movement of an Alto car, chased it and apprehended the duo with a bag containing an AK assault rifle with two magazines and 60 rounds, and a pistol along with two magazines and 15 rounds.

The Police have slapped a case against the duo under various provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Arms Act and the stringent Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA).

It should be noted that TRF is believed to be a shadow group of the Pakistan based anti-India terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba.
