Producer and entrepreneur Madhu Mantena Verma has been summoned by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in connection with its Bollywood drug probe, reports Times Now.
Mantena a national award winning producer has produced movies such as Ghajni, Queen and Super 30. Incidentally, he has also produced the film Udta Punjab which explored the drug problem in the state of Punjab.
Mantena will be asked to appear before the NCB on Wednesday (23 September). He was reportedly named by talent management agency Kwan's employee Jaya Saha during her interrogation in the case. Mantena is also said to be an investor in Kwan.
It was earlier reported that Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone is all set to be summoned by the NCB as alleged WhatsApp chats of her trying to procure drugs go viral. In the WhatsApp chats Deepika allegedly tried to procure drugs like "maal and hash".
The NCB will also be issuing summons to Bollywood actors Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh and fashion designer Simone Kambhatta this week for questioning in connection with its probe.
