The United Kingdom (UK)'s Prime Minister (PM) Boris Johnson has lauded the remarkable strides made by India in the solar energy sector and has said that "incredible things" are being done in India in the sector, reports Hindustan Times.

PM Johnson made the comment while addressing the Climate Action Summit, where he announced that the UK was going ahead with a massive solar energy programme while stressing, " we can’t hope to emulate the incredible things being done by India, Australia or Morocco."

During his address, PM Johnson shared a ten-point plan for ushering in a green industrial revolution in the UK and asserted that his administration was aiming to turn the nation into the Saudi Arabia of wind power generation.

Elaborating on the same, PM Johnson shared that the UK is aiming to generate enough wind power by 2030 to power every single home in the nation.

The Climate Action Summit was co-hosted by the UK on the fifth anniversary of the landmark Paris Climate Agreement as a precursor to the United Nations (UN)' COP26 Summit which will be held in November next year.
