Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that Israel's expertise in water management can work wonders to enhance availability of water in the parched Bundelkhand region, reports NDTV.
Calling for a new work culture by a combination of Israel's technology and UP's manpower, CM Yogi said, "Israel and Bundelkhand have many geographical similarities. Israel can prove helpful in increasing the availability of water in Bundelkhand. We want to set up a flagship project in Bundelkhand and once this is successful we will replicate this to other parts of the state,"
Yogi, during his meeting with Israel's Ambassador to India Ron Malka, also sought Tel Aviv's support to modernize the state's police force. They also discussed various other issues such as agriculture, defence, food processing and marketing, drinking water and irrigation.
Yogi has assured that his government will participate in two international conferences on defence and water in September and November respectively on the invitation of Israel.
In the meantime, Malka assured that Israel will help its strategic partner India in realising its ambitious drive to double the income of its farmers by 2022.
