The Yogi Adityanath-led government is taking more steps to turn Uttar Pradesh into a hub of Made in India toys and increase production of toys in the state.
The state government is preparing to provide employment to, and involve more than 3 lakh people from the state with the toy industry.
New policies will be presented before the cabinet in the ongoing Vidhan Sabha session.
Chitrakoot, Gorakhpur, Azamgarh and Jhansi are among districts in the government's focus for the production of different products, and for the empowerment of women.
Jhansi was in news in 2018 for the stuffed toys industry, with the state government bringing it under a flagship programme. It is expected to emerge as a bigger toy hub.
The Yogi Adityanath government is looking at encouraging production and employment of the locals in the toy industry. To ensure quality products, laboratories will be set up in the state.
