The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) declared the results of the Civil Services Examination 2022 today (23 May).
Four of the top five rankers are women. While Ishita Kishore has secured the All India Rank (AIR) 1, following her are Garima Lohia, Uma Harathi N, and Smriti Mishra.
Mayur Hazarika has secured the fifth rank.
933 candidates, i.e., 613 men and 320 women have been recommended by the Commission for appointment to various Services this year.
While over 11 lakh candidates applied for the Preliminary Exam in 2022, 5,73,735 candidates appeared in the exam. Out of them, 13,090 qualified for the Mains Examination held in September 2022.
Amongst them 2,529 candidates qualified for the Personality Test (Interview).
The result has come five days before the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2023, which is scheduled on 28 May.
