President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump tested positive for coronavirus, the President announced early Friday morning. They will be immediately quarantining themselves.
"Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!" Trump tweeted.

On Thursday (Oct 1), Tump said that he would go into quarantine after one of his closest confidantes Hope Hicks tested positive for coronavirus.
Hope Hicks, who has been working so hard without even taking a small break, has just tested positive for Covid 19. Terrible! The First Lady and I are waiting for our test results. In the meantime, we will begin our quarantine process!

Trump confirmed to Fox News that Hope Hicks had tested positive. The president later said on Twitter that he and First Lady Melania Trump were awaiting their own test results.
Hicks, who serves as counselor to the president and traveled with him multiple times recently, including to the debate in Cleveland on Tuesday, and was seen boarding Marine One, along with several other of the President's closest aides -- Jared Kushner, Dan Scavino and Nicholas Luna .
Hicks had previously served as White House communications director and rejoined the administration this year ahead of the election.
In a Fox News interview late Thursday night, Trump appeared unsure about what his top aide's positive test meant for him.
"I just went out with a test and the First Lady just went out with a test also," he said.
"So whether we quarantine or whether we have it, I don't know."
Taking to Twitter after the interview, the President said: "Hope Hicks, who has been working so hard without even taking a small break, has just tested positive for Covid 19. Terrible.
Earlier, National Security Adviser Robert O'Brien had tested positive, as well as a White House valet who serves the President.
Katie Miller, the Vice President's communications director and the wife of Trump senior adviser Stephen Miller, were also infected.
