Uttarakhand Government To Give Rs 1,000 To Auto Drivers Registered With Tourism Department Amid Covid-19

The Trivendra Singh Rawat led government in Uttarakhand has decided to grant Rs 1,000 to auto drivers who are registered with the State Tourism Department. The auto divers working in tourism industrial units will be given the amount of Rs 1,000 in their accounts.

The move will impose a surcharge of Rs 25 crore on the Uttarakhand government, reports say. The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Rawat. There were other decisions made in the meeting.

These include: Terminating the services of physicians who remain absent from duty for 5 years without leave. Compensating for the gap of funds of the Centre under the Chief Minister State Agricultural Development scheme.

The granting of permission to  Agricultural University Pantnagar, Tehri Bharsar University and ICAR for purchasing seeds. A three month 3-month fee discount on excise to hotels, restaurant and bars and a year long exception on the renewal and registration fee.

The waiving off of loan interest from April to June under Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Swarojgar Yojana and Deendayal Home Stay scheme.
