The Government of Uttarakhand has decided to screen the entire State's population for COVID-19 within a short span of just 10 days to contain the spread of the viral disease, reports Asian News International (ANI).
Making the development public, Chief Minister (CM) Trivendra Singh Rawat said that all the District Magistrates (DMs) of the State have been instructed to complete the screening of the State's population within ten days so that the right situation can be determined.
To accomplish the mammoth exercise, the State administration will be taking the help of Asha workers and Anganwadis.
The State Government's decision comes at a time when the State's total tally of confirmed COVID-19 cases has touched 1,816. The State added 31 new cases on Sunday (14 June).
Meanwhile, on the issue pertaining to cremation of COVID-19 dead bodies, CM Rawat assured that there was no need to worry as the Centre's guidelines were duly being followed in the cremation process keeping all safety measures in mind.
