Vedanta Chairman Anil Agarwal on Sunday (22 March) pledged to contribute Rs 100 crore towards India’s fight against coronavirus.
In a tweet, following the nationwide 5Baje5Minute campaign, Agarwal shared a picture of him paying tribute to India’s warriors against coronavirus. In the tweet he announced his Rs 100 crore pledge for fighting the coronavirus pandemic.
“#DeshKiZarooratonKeLiye is a pledge that we undertook and this is the time when our country needs us the most. Many people are facing uncertainty and I am specially concerned about the daily wage earners, we will do our bit to help”, added Agarwal.

Earlier, Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra offered to contribute 100 per cent of his salary to fight the pandemic. He added that the group is ready to turn its resorts into temporary care units for coronavirus patients. The group is also exploring possibilities of manufacturing ventilators.
