Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s (VHP) first university named Ashok Singhal Ved Vigyan Evam Praudyogikee Vishwavidyalaya, Gurugram is all set to begin classes from the next academic year, reports ANI.
With an objective of re-establishing India as Vishwaguru, the university would take the Vedic methods of teaching into practice and create Vedic time ambience of learning.
The institution aims at providing youth a mix of modern and Vedic curriculum to develop in modern times with the guidance of country’s ancient knowledge.
“The campus will also resonate with Vedic hymns. Upanishads and Extracts of Gita shall be broadcast throughout the campus morning and evening through public address system,” said a senior VHP functionary.
The university is currently under construction in a total area of 39.68 acre of land and will be developed in phases, a source told ANI.
As many as 20 subject courses including Agriculture (Krishi Tantram), Architecture (Vastu Tantram), Environmental Science, Palaeography (Lipi Vigyan), and Ayurveda will be offered to students from the first academic session. It will follow the soon-to-be-introduced National Education Policy, 2019.
The university is named after the long serving International working president of VHP Ashok Singhal, who also played a vital role in the Ram Temple movement.
Currently, the RSS affiliate group runs colleges and schools across the country. This will be the first time VHP will enter the sector of higher education.
