Global Head, TCS iON, Venguswamy Ramaswamy has said that competitive examinations like the IIT-JEE, Common Admission Test (CAT) and other computer-based Indian exams could be given from home, Gadgets Now has reported.

“In fact, why just home? In future, you can simply be at some beach or hills and take computer-based exams like IIT-JEE, CAT or government service exams from your mobile. The technology to facilitate this is possible and provided if authorities want, we can provide the platform for such examinations,” Ramaswamy told Gadgets Now.

TCS iON provides the technology that is used in 80 per cent of the competitive exams, both academic and service. In computer-based tests, human interference is minimal.

“There are already enough checks in place to ensure the integrity of computer-based tests even today,” Ramaswamy said while expressing confidence in his proposal. With technologies like the fingerprint scanner, front camera and mics that are part of all smartphones, customised exam apps could be created to make sure that the candidate cannot resort to unfair means.
