The Border Road Organisation (BRO) has been working in extreme weather conditions to keep the strategic Srinagar-Leh highway open during the winter.

In a video shared by senior defence journalist Nitin Gokhale a BRO employee can be seen operating a snowplough at the Zozi La pass to remove the thick layers of snow to permit the running of vehicles.

As a result of the BRO's heroics the road which otherwise closed in late November, is now open for travel.

BRO in recent days has been working round the clock to complete the work on all the road projects in the Eastern Ladakh sector. The road building exercise is now also 10 times faster as BRO has now brought new machinery.

BRO is also strengthening bridges on the strategically important Darbuk-Shyok-Daulat Beg Oldie (DSDBO) road to allow the movement of tanks and other heavy vehicles.
