In the video Somaiya can be seen assuring support and protection to Tiwari and his family members. One of his associates was already providing support to the victim and has assured not to rest till the Shiv Sena goons are in jail.
Somaiya too paid a visit to the Wadala police station and demanded the arrest of Shiv Sena office bearers responsible for the act.
It should be recalled that Somaiya has been a trenchant critic of Uddhav Thackeray and had dubbed him as the “mafia of Bandra” in the run up to the 2017 BMC polls.
This criticism resulted in Shiv Sena mounting pressure on the BJP to deny him a reelection ticket from Mumbai North East. The BJP then relented and instead fielded Manoj Kotak.
