In the above videos taken from one of the cockpits, a plane can be seen flying inverted.
The Suryakiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) was formed in 1996 to serve as "Ambassadors of the Indian Air Force" and to "showcase the professionalism, the calibre and the mettle of the Indian Air Force". The motto of Suryakiran team is ‘always the best’.
The squadron was previously composed of the HAL HJT-16 Kiran Mk.2 military trainer aircraft and are based at the Bidar Air Force Station in Karnataka. The team was suspended in February 2011.
However, it has been reconvened in 2015 with Hawk Mk-132 aircraft. The team in 2017 was back to its former glory with a nine aircraft team.
