News agency ANI has released a video of Indian Army foiling an infiltration attempt by a Pakistani Border Action Team (BAT) squad across the Line of Control (LoC) in Keran sector of Kupwara in Jammu and Kashmir.

As reported earlier, the encounter had taken place in the first week of August this year.

According to reports, on 3 August, infiltration bid across the LoC involving over five Pak BAT army regulars/terrorists’, orchestrated by the Border Action Team (BAT) of Pakistan Army, was foiled by Indian Army in Jammu and Kashmir's Keran sector.

Briefing on the development, a senior Army officer had said that a group of 5-7, comprising terrorists and Special Services Group of the Pakistan Army were killed in an unsuccessful BAT operation which began on the intervening night of 31 July and 1 August.

"Four bodies have been seen lying on our side of the LoC, in close proximity to our posts. But there is continuing cross-border firing in the sector," said the officer.

Despite the continuing cross border firing, the Indian Army offered the Pakistan Army to come with a white flag, and take over the dead bodies of its subjects for last rites.
