The Scorpion squadron of the famed MiG-27 aircraft took off for the last time before getting decommissioned. Thus, it will be the last time a MiG-27 will take off in India.

The last seven remaining MiG-27s thus took off from the Jodhpur Air Force station today afternoon (27 December).

Fondly named Bahadur (Brave), the aircraft served the Indian Air Force (IAF) for 35 year and played a pivotal role as an "ace attacker" during the 1999 Kargil war.

India was the last country operating the MiG-27 and this decommission means no MiG-27 will take to the skies again anywhere in the world.
