National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, who has been in the Kashmir Valley after the Centre announced its decision to revoke Jammu & Kashmir’s (J&K’s) special status by doing away with Articles 370 and 35A, was today seen interacting with local residents of Shopian during a meal, and also giving a briefing to soldiers from the Indian Army.
Shopian is a district in the southern part of the Valley, which is known to be a militancy hotbed.
Here is Doval eating lunch with local residents:

As the central government had made large-scale preparations to ensure order and tranquility in the Valley prior to its decision to revoke special status, the region has largely avoided any major flare-ups, and normalcy seems to be slowly returning as people begin to go back to their daily business.
