President of the Delhi BJP, Manoj Tiwari has offered to donate Rs 1,11,100 to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday (18 October) on the condition that the AAP government in Delhi moves forward with Phase IV of the Delhi Metro expansion project.

“Arvind Kejriwal Ji do not punish people like this, who have elected you. The Chief Minister says he will not give Phase IV Metro to Delhi which gave 67 out of 70 (Assembly) seats to him. Brother have your donation, I will give you Rs 1,11,100 from my income through singing if you clear the Phase IV Metro,” Tiwari tweeted in Hindi, as reported by Indian Express.

The tweet was in response to a donation campaign launched by AAP earlier this week, where monthly donations will be collected from people, keeping in mind the upcoming polls in 2019.

The project has been a major issue of contention between the AAP government in Delhi and the BJP-led NDA government in the centre. Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri has also offered to foot the entire cost of the project if Delhi government decides against the project.

The BJP has been on the offence calling out the AAP government over the delay in the execution of the project, Tiwari meanwhile, claims that this will set Delhi back at least 20 years on the development front. The Leader of Opposition and BJP politician in the Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta has urged the government at the Centre led by his party to take over the project and execute for the sake of the people.
