The election commission in the US state of Wisconsin has received a request for a recount of the votes cast during the presidential election. The state was narrowly won by Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

The request was filed by Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein, BBC reported. A win by Hillary Clinton in Wisconsin alone would not overturn Trump's lead as it provides only 10 electoral votes. Stein has also pledged to file vote recounts in Michigan (16 electoral votes) and Pennsylvania (20 electoral votes). Pennsylvania's deadline is Monday, and Michigan's is Wednesday.

Voting-rights attorney John Bonifaz and J Alex Halderman, the director of the University of Michigan Center for Computer Security and Society, have said that they’ve found persuasive evidence of results in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania being hacked. Trump's camp has made no public comments on the recounts issue.
