With IIT Kanpur’s Help, Tripura Government Seeks To Create Data Bank Containing Key Information On Government Schools

The state government of Tripura is partnering with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur for the creation of a data bank which contains vital information about government run and government-aided schools, reports India Today.

The data bank under this project, which is known as, Data Intelligence Solution, will include information such as the implementation of government schemes, status of staff (teaching and non-teaching) and other details about schools in the state.

Funding for the project will come from private firms as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) work.

"A minister or a high-ranking officer will be able to access the data bank online," an official remarked.

The same project has already been successfully finished in Jharkhand, and there are other states where it will soon be extended, including Bihar.

Creating a data bank for information regarding government schools is critically important to prevent and clamp down on major issues which such entities face, such as absentee teachers, fake enrolment, fund diversions, etc.
