With Shiv Sena making open demand for the Chief Ministerial post for Aaditya Thackeray in the state of Maharashtra for a period of 2.5 years, if it is to form the government in alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led by incumbent Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the two parties are set to meet the Governor of the state separately today, reports Times of India.

From the BJP, CM Fadnavis will himself be calling on Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, while from the Shiv Sena's end, the incumbent Transport Minister of the state, Diwakar Raote will be meeting the Governor.

The two are likely to brief the Governor on the views of the two parties, while CM Fadnavis is also likely to appraise the Governor on the current political situation in the state, which includes the possibility of staking claim to form the next government.

It is believed that post being elected the leader of the BJP's legislative party, CM Fadnavis will be staking a claim to form the government in the state, whether Shiv Sena supports the BJP or not. It remains to be seen if Shiv Sena would soften its stance and settle for a post of Deputy CM for Aaditya Thackeray, or will it continue to demand a CM post for half of the five year period.
