Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday (8 October) said that riots were in the veins of the opposition and that his administration would neither allow another "Kairana or Kandhla" to be created in the state nor a riot like the one in Muzaffarnagar, reports Indian Express.

“For years they were ruling the state, but where were they taking the state? There was a large-scale exodus in Kairana, large exodus in Kandhla and riots in Muzaffarnagar. Riot is in their veins,” CM Yogi was quoted as saying.

Over 250 Hindu families in Kairana had left the town due to fear of the members of Muslim community, a National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) report had revealed.

The Uttar Pradesh CM made the remark while addressing local BJP workers in Bulandshahr Assembly seat, where by-election is scheduled to be held on 3 November.

He said that the political forces that were behind the Muzaffarnagar riots and forced exoduses in Kairana and Kandhala were again trying to create caste, creed and religion based differences.

“Who are these people who are trying to create differences in the name of caste, creed or religion?..These are the same faces that incited riots in Muzaffarnagar, these are the same faces that forced the exodus from Kairana and Kandhla,” CM Yogi said.

He asked the party workers to be on alert against people who shelter rioters.
