India Today reporter Kamaljit Sandhu was attacked by JKLF chief Yasin Malik on Friday when his reaction was sought on the Hurriyat Truth Tapes expose.
Sandhu had visited Malik's home to get his views on India Today’s special investigative report that revealed several top Kashmiri separatists confessing to receiving funds from across the border.
Malik also snatched her phone and broke it, and assaulted India Today's video journalist Vinod.
India Today aired the special investigative report where Hurriyat's Provincial President (Geelani Faction) Naeem Khan was caught on camera admitting Pakistan is funding violence in Kashmir Valley.
Following this, Khan came to India Today office in Srinagar and threatened the reporters. He also asked them to take down the story.
A terror funding trail was traced by India Today when it had Naeem Khan stealthily travel down to Delhi to meet India Today reporters, who posed as potential funders. The investigation revealed that Pakistan's agents who are trying to destabilise Kashmir through street violence are hidden in Delhi.
The video also revealed some of them admitting that they raised money domestically, pledging to repeat the deadly events of 2016 if financed again. The report disclosed the designs of anti-India forces in Kashmir like Hurriyat's Provincial President (Geelani Faction) Naeem Khan, Tehreek-E-Hurriyat's leader Gazi Javed Baba, and JKLF chairman Farooq Ahmed Dar (Bitta Karate).
Malik was invited as a speaker at the 2008 India Today conclave titled ‘Leadership for the 21st Century’.
Ironic. Islamist Terrorist Yasin Malik was invited to 'India Today Conclave' as a youth icon in 2008, today he manhandles their reporter. pic.twitter.com/GN7M2Y0gyt
