Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed authorities to seize the properties of Moradabad attackers and violent lockdown violators if they fail to pay for the damages done to government property during attack on health personnel and cops, Indian Express has reported.
As per the report, Yogi Adityanath has ordered that if violence makers damage public property during lockdown or during the screening of suspected Covid-19 patients, the required cost should be recovered from them. If the accused fail to pay up, their properties will be confiscated.
This incident comes after the incident in Moradabad when a team of health personnel and cops was brutally attacked while implementing Covid-19 protocols. Yogi Adityanath had subsequently ordered that the accused by booked under the National Security Act besides other penal sections.
At least 17 individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident.
As reported, the violent mob had made it clear that they will not be tested and if Coronavirus spreads as a result, so be it. The area was declared a Covid-19 hotspot after one of its resident named Sartaj tested positive and died.
Besides attacking the health personnel, cops and taking a doctor hostage, the mob also damaged police vehicles and an ambulance.
