As the online grocery delivery space continues to grow, Zomato-backed Grofers has announced that it started a 10-minute grocery delivery service in ten cities across the country, reports Livemint.
Gurugram-based Grofers has launched the service in Delhi, Gurugram, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Jaipur, Ghaziabad, Noida and Lucknow, offering over 7,000 items of everyday essential needs as per details shared by it in a blog post.
Taking to Twitter, the company's founder and chief executive Albinder Dhindsa said, "Our next goal is to bring the delivery time to below 10 mins for the majority of our customers within the next 45 days. If we don't serve your area yet, we will be there very soon."
It should be noted that Zomato backed the company recently by acquiring a 9.3 per cent stake with an investment of $100 million (Rs 745 crore) into it. Its investment was approved by the Competition Commission of India (CCI) just last week.
The sector has been one of the fastest-growing segments in the consumer e-commerce space, and the growth has only been further fuelled by the growing digital penetration and COVID-19 pandemic.
