Athulya Ashokan, a Hindu woman who came out strongly against the film, The Kerala Story, and subsequently married a man from the minority community, Risal Mansoor, has reportedly claimed that she is under threat from Mansoor.

Users on X (formerly Twitter) have posted screenshots of a post by her on Instagram tagging the handle of Mansoor, which said, "Whatever happens to me, no one in my family is responsible, only him @marz_12."

A picture of a document regarding her nikah, in which her name is mentioned as 'Alia' is also being widely circulated.

However, some social media users also advised caution in reacting to Athulya's posts. Author Shefali Vaidya wrote that the issue could be scripted and so she would advise people not to jump to conclusions.

"Social media is abuzz with the supposed turnaround of Athulya Ashokan, the Hindu girl from Kerala who married a Muzlim man and converted. Now she has apparently deleted all pics of her husband and locked her insta account. I would advise people to not jump to conclusions. For all you know, this might be a ploy to create a buzz on insta. Don’t underestimate the power of Al Taquiyya! This entire thing could be a well-scripted drama!"
