200 Israelis In India Unreachable On Account Of Devastating Floods, Says Israeli Foreign Ministry

After heavy monsoon rains caused devastating floods in northern India, concerned family members have reached out to the Israeli Foreign Ministry to report that they are unable to contact their loved ones who are in the affected areas in India

The Israeli Foreign Ministry has stated that approximately 200 Israelis are currently unreachable, as confirmed on Tuesday (July 11).

In a recent statement, the Foreign Ministry acknowledged that they have received multiple requests for assistance in locating individuals who cannot be reached.

According to the Israeli consulate in New Delhi, the main issue preventing communication is the damage to infrastructure and the lack of reception caused by the floods. The Israeli Foreign Ministry, along with other actors on the ground, is making efforts to reach the travelers affected by the floods, as per their statement.

However, there is currently no information indicating that any Israelis have been injured in the floods.

According to Ynet, there are hundreds of Israelis who are stranded in northern areas due to blocked roads and lack of internet connectivity.

At least 15 people have been killed in northern India as a result of landslides and flash floods.

The heavy rainfall during the weekend caused severe flooding in New Delhi, resulting in submerged roads and stranded residents. The northern hill states, particularly Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, have been the most affected, with 10 fatalities reported from flash floods and landslides.
