Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be launching the Rozgar Mela on 22 October at 25 locations across the country.
Expediting the recruitment process, the Railways will be facilitating handing over of about 4500 appointment letters for various posts as part of the programme.
Railway jobs would be offered at the Rozgar Mela programmes organised at various places including Ranchi, Kanpur, Ambala, Bikaner, Lucknow and Udhampur.
These programmes showcase continuous commitment of the Government towards providing job opportunities for the youth and ensuring citizen welfare.
Appointment letters to be given for railway jobs including assistant pilots, junior engineers, stenographers, para-medicals and track maintainers to successful candidates.
Recruitment for the Railways is being done by Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) and Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC).
The Railways, which is in the process of recruiting 1.5 lakh candidates, has finalised the appointment list for 11,000 posts out of which 5500 candidates are already being given the letters recently.
On 22 October, about 4500 more candidates would be given appointment letters at the Rozgar Mela being organised at various locations, said a senior Railway Ministry official.
With much fanfare, PM Modi will launch the Rozgar Mela – the recruitment drive for 10 lakh personnel via video conferencing. During the ceremony, appointment letters will be handed over to 75,000 newly inducted appointees.
The Prime Minister will also address these appointees on the occasion. 75,000 new appointees to be appointed in the first tranche.
This will be a significant step forward towards fulfilling the continuous commitment of the Prime Minister to providing job opportunities for the youth and ensuring welfare of citizens.
As per the directions of the Prime Minister, all Ministries and Departments are working towards filling up existing vacancies against sanctioned posts in Mission Mode.
The new recruits, selected from across the country, will join 38 Ministries/Departments of Government of India. The appointees will join the government at various levels viz. Group – A, Group – B (Gazetted), Group – B (Non-Gazetted) and Group – C.
The posts on which appointments are being made include Central Armed Force Personnel, Sub Inspector, Constable, LDC, Steno, PA, Income Tax Inspectors among others.
These recruitments are being done in Mission Mode by Ministries and Departments either by themselves or through Recruiting agencies such as UPSC, SSC, Railway Recruitment Board.
For expeditious recruitment, selection processes have been simplified and made tech enabled.
