49 More Opposition MPs Suspended From Lok Sabha, Farooq Abdullah Adamant On Amit Shah's Statement On Security Issue

After a total of 92 suspensions in the ongoing Winter Session of Parliament, Lok Sabha suspended 49 more Opposition MPs from Lok Sabha on Tuesday (19 December).

The list included Supriya Sule, Manish Tewari, Shashi Tharoor, Mohammed Faisal, Karti Chidambaram, Sudip Bandhopadhyay, Girdhari Yadav, Farooq Abdullah, Mala Rai, Dimple Yadav and Danish Ali.

These leaders are suspended for the remainder of the winter session of Parliament. The lawmakers are facing consequences for causing disturbances in the House sessions over security breach issue.

Farooq Abdullah declared that their demand for a statement by Home Minister is correct and said, "Who does the Police come under? What would have happened if he (Union Home Minister) had made a statement in Parliament on the incident (security breach)?"

After these suspensions, Lok Sabha was adjourned to meet again at 2 pm today. A total of 95 MPs have been suspended from Lok Sabha in this session.

The lawmakers who were suspended from Lok Sabha on Monday comprise of prominent Opposition leaders such as Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, the Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha, T R Baalu and Dayanidhi Maran from DMK, and Saugata Roy from TMC.
