In a significant development, two bases affiliated with the Baluchi militant group Jaish al-Adl in Pakistan were reportedly struck by missiles on Tuesday (16 January), according to Iranian state media.

This incident occurred just a day after Iran's Revolutionary Guards unleashed missile attacks on targets in Iraq and Syria.

Jaish al-Adl, known for previous assaults on Iranian security forces along the border with Pakistan, now finds itself at the centre of escalating tensions between the two nations.

As reported by Indian Express, Iranian state media provided limited details, stating that the bases were "hit and destroyed by missiles and drones."

While the exact location was not explicitly mentioned, reports indicate that these bases are situated in Pakistan's Balochistan province.

In response, Pakistan accused Iran of violating its airspace, resulting in the tragic death of two children.

Expressing strong condemnation, Pakistan labeled the airspace violation as "completely unacceptable" and warned of "serious consequences."

The country's foreign office promptly lodged a protest with Tehran, emphasising that the responsibility for any fallout would squarely rest with Iran.

However, Pakistan's statement did not divulge specific details about the airspace violation, raising questions about the circumstances surrounding the incident.

As tensions escalate, the international community is closely monitoring the situation between Iran and Pakistan.
