Israel Defence Forces (IDF) announced on Thursday (3 October) that it had 'eliminated' Rawhi Mushtaha, the Head of the Hamas government in Gaza approximately three months ago.

Israel announced the elimination of three Hamas terrorists in a joint IDF and Israel Securities Authority (ISA) strike in Gaza back then.

Other than Mushtaha, Sameh al-Siraj, who held the security portfolio on Hamas' political bureau and Hamas' labor committee and Sami Oudeh, Commander of Hamas' general security mechanism were also killed.

Elaborating on details, IDF said that Israel Air Force fighter jets 'struck and eliminated the terrorists while they were hiding in a fortified and equipped underground compound in northern Gaza.'

"The compound served as a Hamas command and control center and enabled senior operatives to remain inside of it for extended periods of time," it added.

The IDF pledged to continue to pursue all of the terrorists responsible for the 7 October 2023 massacre and operate against anyone who threatens the State of Israel.

The announcement comes at a time when Israel has been involved in bombings in Labanon's capital Beirut after its eight soldiers were killed in the fight against Hezbollah.

Meanwhile, a rumoured 'execution list' by Iran to kill Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Yoav Gallant is doing rounds on social media.
