Apna Dal (Soneylal) [AD(S)] supremo Anupriya Patel continued her attack on the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government over outsourced recruitment for government jobs.
While speaking at the party's provincial monthly meeting in Lucknow on Sunday (4 August), Patel asserted that reservations should be mandatory for outsourced government jobs.
"To make reservations transparent, a caste census is needed," the AD(S) supremo said adding that the recruitment for government posts through outsourcing is like a cancer.
Patel demanded either outsourcing recruitment should stop or there should be a provision to implement reservations in outsourced recruitment, as per Jagran.
Referring to the party's bad performance in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, she stated that the party's executive has been dissolved and urged workers to go among people over the issue of reservations.
The AD(S) supremo criticised the Nazul Land Bill, which has been put in cold storage for now. Patel, however, asserted that the party will contest the 2027 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections under NDA.
NDA is the ruling alliance led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Patel has been associated with it for several years. In 2019, the AD(S) won all two seats it contested but in 2024, it could win only one.
Since, the Lok Sabha election results, Patel has been attacking Adityanath government. Earlier, she alleged that there was a bias against candidates of OBC, SC and ST communities in state government job recruitment.
