Arvind Kejriwal Skips Eighth ED Summons, Sets Conditions For Appearing: Date After 12 March, Via Videoconferencing

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is set to skip eighth summons as well as he has sent a reply to the Enforcement Directorate (ED), calling the summons illegal, according to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday (4 March).

While Kejriwal reportedly said that he was still ready to answer. the Delhi CM has set some conditions. One is a date after 12 March and the second is that he will attend the hearing via video conferencing.

The videoconferencing trick is not new as he appeared before the Rouse Avenue Court via videoconferencing. The matter was listed for 16 March after Kejriwal's counsel said that the Delhi CM would appear physically for the next hearing.

Kejriwal was asked to appear on 4 March in the eighth summons related to the liquor policy case. Earlier, the AAP had said that the matter is in court and the next hearing is on 16 March, hence Kejriwal is not appearing before ED.

The party asked the ED to wait for the court's decision and stop sending summons daily. This came after the central investigative agency filed a complaint against Kejriwal under section 174 of the IPC (Indian Penal Code).

In its complaint, the ED said that Kejriwal intentionally disobeyed the first three summons issued to him.
