The interim government in Bangladesh, led by Muhammad Yunus, will be sworn in tomorrow, as per a report by NDTV.

President Mohammed Shahabuddin has appointed the 84-year-old Noble Laureate to head the government after the violent removal of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

General Waker-Uz-Zaman has informed reporters that the ceremony will take place at 8 pm. The interim government, led by Muhammad Yunus, is expected to have an advisory council of 15 members.

Yunus will hold the title of chief adviser, as stated by Nahid Islam, a leader of the Students Against Discrimination group.

Yunus is expected to guide Bangladesh through a "democratic process" as he takes on the role, according to General Waker. Yunus too has expressed his eagerness to help the country overcome its current challenges, stating his commitment to leading the nation towards democracy.

The appointment was prompted by student leaders who called on Yunus to lead the country, citing his achievements in lifting millions out of poverty.

A Bangladesh court has also acquitted Yunus of a labor conviction on appeal. He had been sentenced to six months in jail earlier this year but was immediately bailed pending appeal.
