Shehzad Poonawalla, the spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has strongly criticised the Congress party, particularly Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, for her recent statement about discovering Rs 21 in an envelope, targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Poonawalla argued that the Congress should provide a comprehensive report on their achievements instead of relying on deceptive tactics with false claims related to white envelopes.
He accused the Congress of misleading the public with such falsehoods.
In a video shared by the news agency PTI and reported by Hindustan Times, Poonawalla called out Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for spreading what he referred to as fake news about an 'envelope' allegedly placed by Prime Minister Modi at Devnarayan Mandir.
On Thursday (26 October), the Election Commission issued a show-cause notice to Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, citing a potential violation of the poll code in her speech delivered in Rajasthan's Dausa.
Expressing his disappointment with the Congress government in Rajasthan, led by Ashok Gehlot, the BJP leader accused the Congress of deceiving the people of Rajasthan and making baseless claims and allegations while interacting with the public.
He further branded the government as one tainted by corruption and plunder.
