While the Surat constituency was won by the BJP uncontested, it is leading in 23 other seats of Gujarat, while Congress is leading in two seats.
These two seats are of Banaskantha-2 and Patan-3 where Congress candidates Geniben Nagaji Thakor and Chandanji Talaji Thakor are leading respectively.
This means that the BJP will not be able to secure hat-trick of clean sweeps in Gujarat as the party managed to win all 26 seats of the state in the past two elections.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is leading by 4.72 lakh votes. while BJP Gujarat presodent C R Patil is leading by 4.67 lakh votes.
