BJP MP Nishikant Dubey's Challenge: Will Retire From Politics If Indecent Questions Claim Proven In Mahua Moitra's Probe

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, who had earlier accused Trinamool MP Mahua Moitra of receiving cash and gifts from industrialist Darshan Hiranandani in exchange for asking questions against Gautam Adani in Parliament, has issued a bold challenge.

On Friday (3 November), Dubey stated that he would retire from politics if it could be proven that Moitra was subjected to inappropriate personal questions during her appearance before the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee, as reported by Hindustan Times.

Moitra, alongside other opposition members of the committee, had walked out of the interrogation session, alleging that indecent questions were directed at her, unrelated to the investigation.

Dubey's challenge came in response to these allegations, as he emphasised the importance of maintaining a respectful and professional approach during committee proceedings.

Hiranandani, in his affidavit, had claimed to have covered the air travel, hotel accommodations, and car expenses for the MP both in India and abroad.

Dubey stressed that he would only consider retiring from politics if questions unrelated to the financial aspects were posed to Moitra, specifically mentioning personal matters regarding her male friend.

Dubey also directed strong words at Bahujan Samaj Party MP Danish Ali, who was one of the protestors during the committee's proceedings.

He urged his colleagues not to exploit a woman's victim card and requested evidence from Congress and Janata Dal (United) MPs, challenging them to reveal any inappropriate lines of questioning that had transpired during the committee debate.
