Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Jagat Prakash Nadda unveiled the party's manifesto for the Haryana assembly elections on Thursday (19 September) making promises to mellow down the anti-incumbency.
Since unemployment and the Agnipath scheme remain the most contentious issues for the youth in Haryana, two lakh government jobs and assured government jobs for every Agniveer are promised.
During the event held in Rohtak, Nadda emphasised that the manifesto is a serious commitment, highlighting the BJP's track record of fulfilling its promises and even delivering on objectives not included in previous manifestos.
He pointed to significant progress in Haryana under BJP rule, noting that the state's per capita income rose from Rs 1.37 lakh in 2014 to Rs 3 lakh, while exports grew from Rs 68,000 crore to Rs 2.5 lakh crore.
Key pledges in the manifesto include Rs 2,100 per month for women under the Lado Lakshmi Yojna and cooking gas cylinders at Rs 500 through the Har Ghar Grihini Yojna.
Nadda also stressed the BJP's efforts to transform Haryana's image, contrasting the state's current achievements with past issues like job irregularities and land scams.
The manifesto further promises scholarships for OBC and SC students in Haryana to pursue studies at government medical or engineering colleges nationwide. Additionally, the BJP committed to establishing up to 10 industrial cities modeled on the Kharkhoda industrial township.
