Several schools in Delhi and Noida were evacuated today following bomb threats received via email.
Police and emergency teams are conducting thorough searches at multiple campuses, including Sanskriti School in Chanakyapuri, Mother Mary School in Mayur Vihar, and Delhi Public School (DPS) in Dwarka.
These schools were among the first to report the threats early this morning.
Since then, several other schools, including DPS Noida, have also received similar mails, claiming that there are explosives on the campus.
The situation intensified when Mother Mary School, in the midst of an examination, had to abruptly stop the test and evacuate the building.
In a mail to parents, DPS said, "This is to inform you that the school has received an email that threatens the safety and security of the students. As a precautionary measure we are sending the students back home immediately."
Visuals from the schools showed parents rushing to the schools to pick up their children.
Bomb detection team, bomb disposal squad and officials of Delhi Fire Service have been rushed to the schools.
Despite the ongoing searches, the teams have not yet identified any suspicious items.
This incident comes just months after a similar bomb threat at Delhi Police School in R K Puram had turned out to be a hoax.
