The derailment of several bogies of the Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express has killed at least four train passengers and injured over 20. The accident happened in Uttar Pradesh's Gonda.
Taking note of the accident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed district officials to reach the spot and speed up the relief and rescue work. He also asked for proper treatment of injured.
The train was going from Chandigarh to Dibrugarh and derailed at Jhilahi station between Gonda and Basti stations of the Barabanki-Gorakhpur rail division.
"All the injured people have been sent to Mankapur CHC and Gonda," Union Minister Kirti Vardhan Singh, who reached the spot, said.
"We are making arrangements to take the rest of the passengers to the main road. A bus has been arranged for them so that they can reach Mankapur railway station," he said.
"A special relief train will come from Gorakhpur and through this train, the passengers will be taken to their respective places," he further continued.
