The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from South Bangalore Tejasvi Surya brought up the matter of violent suppression of dissent in the CPM-ruled Kerala in the Lok Sabha zero hour yesterday.
The MP shares his speech on Twitter saying that the land of Lord Ayyappa, Adi Shankara, Sri Narayana Guru cant be let to suffer from communist despots.
“CM Pinarayi Vijayan, true Communist that he is, is following Lenin, Stalin, Pol Pot and Castro in violently suppressing dissent,” said Surya, talking on crimes against democracy in Kerala.
Surya raised the issue of brutal actions of Kerala Police on the Yuva Morcha Karyakartas during their peaceful agitations against the scams of Kerala Government, including the recent gold smuggling scandal.
During the peaceful protests demanding resignation of CPM minister KT Jaleel in Kerala, the karyakartas of ABVP, BJP Mahila Morcha, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha were allegedly brutally attacked by the police and Left-wing comrades.

Both West Bengal and Kerala, the only remaining major states with significant presence of the Left parties, are notorious for political violence.
Communist party members are accused of using violence and intimidation to silence their ideological opponents. Not just the contenders of power, but also the common people become victims of the witch hunt.
The J Shamsudeen committee report released in September 2019 gave harrowing details of Left’s reign of terror in Kerala colleges.
“The students narrated how the SFI activists physically assaulted and verbally abused them for not being a part of the outfit’s activities. They also complained about exam irregularities by SFI workers with the tacit support of college authorities,” Shamsudeen said.
Complaints also emerged against Left-affiliated teachers who turn a blind eye to the illegal activities of SFI leaders. Unlawful practices such as attendance waiver for SFI leaders and facilitating their re-admission were also raised during the hearing by students, teachers, rights activists and other stakeholders.
The report also pointed out that “torture chambers” existed in the colleges where SFI members would take the students who fail to toe the line.
